The world’s first ‘pregnant man’ Thomas Beatie has announced that he plans to have a h child.

However this time his partner, Amber Nicholas, will be the one carrying the baby.
Beatie, a trans man, had gender reassignment surgery in 2002 and became known as ‘The Pregnant Man’ after he became pregnant through artificial insemination in 2007.
Beatie chose to become pregnant because his wife Nancy was infertile, doing so with bought sperm from an anonymous donor.
Beatie’s first pregnancy resulted in an ectopic pregnancy with triplets, requiring emergency surgery and resulting in the loss of all three fetuses. Beatie has since borne three children.
The couple filed for divorce in 2012.
Now Beatie has announced his plans to have a 4th child. Beatie has just eight menstrual cycles a year instead of 12, and only half of these cycles are useful for conception as he has previously had a fallopian tube removed due to an ectopic pregnancy.
In an interview with US news magazine show Inside Edition, Thomas discussed his plans to expand his family with new partner Amber.
The couple hope to use the same sperm donor as Thomas used with his three older children.

“I actually really like the idea of her carrying my child,” Thomas explains in the interview.
