Watch live as the refloating operation for the crippled Costa Concordia cruise ship gets underway
Salvage workers begin lifting the wrecked Costa Concordia cruise ship at the start of a complex operation that should see the vessel towed away for scrapping later this month.
The ship ran aground on a reef off Giglio Island on the night of 13 January 2012, after its captain Francesco Schettino ordered it to detour and make a 'salute' to those on shore. 32 people onboard lost their lives as the ship capsized.
