The boy begged his family to let him donate his organs before brain cancer took his life saying from his deathbed, "There are many people doing great things in the world. They are great, and I want to be a great kid too!"
Liang Yaoyi, an 11 year-old pupil from Shenzhen always wanted to be a doctor. But he suffered from a terminal brain tumor and he told his mother on his deathbed to donate his organs to other people in need.
His family weren’t happy initially, but finally agreed to fulfill his dying wish, “to be alive in another way”.
Doctors at the first affiliated hospital of Zhongshan University in Guangzhou helped Liang donate his organs and within 8 hours they were used to save the lives of others.
Chinese netizens took to Sina Weibo to share their admiration of the ‘little angel.’
I am a parent myself, I can strongly sense his mother’s pain at heart. My highest respect to the child and his respectable mother.
