Elegbeleye was reacting to the sterling performance of Team Nigeria at the ongoing Common- wealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Team Nigerian athletes buoyed by the spectacular performance of hotshot, Blessing Okagbare in the women’s 100 m where she shattered the Games record to win 10.85sec posted amazing results winning three gold and a cocktail of silver and bronze medals. Odunayo Adekuoreye and Aminat Adeniyi won gold medals in Wrestling while Superwoman Mary- am Usman lifted Nigeria’s name to high heavens with her golden lift.
‘’These things are made possible by the love and support of President Ebele Goodluck Jonathan. He has been the backbone of sports and we are happy to be churning out these good results’’, a jubilant Elegbeleye said. He opined that the sky still looks good for more medals to come the way of Team Nigeria before the Games curtains are drawn on Sunday.
‘’Our athletes and offi- cials have been remarkable. We’re grateful to Mr Presi- dent and all Nigerians for their support’’, Elegbeleye who has been watching and supporting virtually all the sports said.
