Heart-Touching Letter to People who say they are Music Ministers

Dearly beloved music ministers, please permit me to share something of great concern to us. But you must promise to forgive me in advance, as I would be as stern and blunt as possible to communicate this truth, yet in love.

AWARDS!

How did we buy into this award thingy from the world? How did we get roped in? It is quite shameful to see anointed psalmists and ministers in my opinion, begging for votes; sending desperate messages and pleas just to win some award. I want to ask us all a question, who called us? Shouldn't the one that called be the one to award? Or better put, reward us? From time to time, I meet music ministers that say they want to go deeper in to God, but you see, a lot of the time, it's just mere talk. Deep down, most folks want to be super stars and celebrities; seeking the spot light and lime light.

Shouldn't we be seeking God's exceeding rewards, than man's empty awards? And in case you think I am saying this because i've not been nominated, well, I get a number of letters on nominations and awards, but by God's grace, they mean nothing me, and should mean very little to us, his priests. Like Paul, we must count them dung for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ.

Why are we getting distracted by these nonsense? Have we forgotten who and whose we are? Royal priesthoods, holy nation and a peculiar people. Should we not strive to win more souls than struggle to win meaningless awards that hold no eternal value?

And to crown it all, you hear, "To God be the glory for this award", the same "award" we lobby, beg and sometimes pay to get? Saints, let's wake up ! Who deceived us???? The world is in dire need of the anointing and presence of God. And we can't give them with all the frivolity by the side. At least, if you have to get an award, let them give you - receive it, forget it and move on. Don't beg, lobby and pay for it.

This is an hard saying, who can hear it. Remember I asked for forgiveness from the start, and once more I ask that you forgive me if this hits you hard. But the truth of the matter is that we owe the next generation of psalmists the truth.
